Pastor Dick and his wife, Sally, live in Allentown,
PA—five stop signs and at least 12 traffic lights
(plus construction on Rt. 309 & 873) from First
Church. Sally is a retired elementary school
teacher and for the past six years has been on the
staff of Muhlenberg College as “Supervisor of
Student Teaching”.
Pastor Dick is an experienced Interim Minister,
having served seven other congregations in this
capacity. He has served several full-time called
long-term pastorates in the UCC and Presbyterian
Church (USA). Since 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina, he
has received extensive training in disaster relief
with certification through the Red Cross and FEMA.
He is a member of the Lehigh County Citizens Corps
Council (of EMA). Last year Dick became a part of
the Presbyterian Disaster Assistance’s National

The McClain's, as evidenced by the pictures in the
church office, are very involved with their children
and grandchildren. Brian and Jen McClain, and
daughters, Megan and Emily, live near Medina, Ohio.
Lori and Rick Buckenmyer and Buck (Frederick, Jr.)
and Kali (Kalina) live near Coopersburg, PA. The
McClain clan loves to boat and camp and enjoys
family activities. The grandchildren, ranging in
age from six to ten, learned to water ski last
summer. They look forward to introducing you to the
members of the McClain clan over the coming months.
Dick and Sally also enjoy snorkeling. Pastor
McClain enjoys water skiing, downhill skiing, rock
climbing, and backpacking.
Pastor Dick looks forward to providing meaningful
biblical sermons and loving pastoral care.
